"I am interested in entering but I'm not sure which category is suitable for me to enter. I have been Pole dancing for 6 months and have a routine that includes air inverts, spins, floor invert etc but I have not entered any other competitions before. Can you tell me if I am able to enter?"

There are many questions when you are new to competitions - 

Miss Pole Dance & Mr Pole Fitness UK was set up to provide a professional platform for all performers irrespective of experience or whether you are being paid to perform or pole dance in public

 

Below is a brief outline of the different criteria's and categories you may enter (something for everyone)

Each competitor must have the right to reside in the UK, to be able to apply

Miss Pole Dance & Mr Pole Fitness UK structure is as follows -

AMATEUR CATEGORY
You must be aged 16 years old OR ABOVE on or before the competition date
Poling for under one year (two years if Covid has restricted you) and no inverts (upside down moves) are allowed on the pole - no head below the hips.
This category has NO pre-selection video round - Applicants are awarded a place in the final on a first come first registered basis, which includes payment

 

CHILDREN & YOUTH CATEGORY
CHILDREN 8-11 years – Open to boys and girls. All moves are allowed.
YOUTH 12-15 years – Open to boys and girls. All moves are allowed.

SEMI-PRO STUDENT CATEGORY
You must be 16 or over on the competition date

Poling for any length of time
You have never taught in a paid capacity 
You have never completed a pole instructor training course OR certified as an instructor through recognised training

You have NOT previously entered a Miss Pole Dance UK professional competition in a SINGLES category

This category has a pre-selection video round ONLY successful applicants will be invited to compete in the finals

SEMI-PRO INSTRUCTOR CATEGORY
You must be aged 16 or over on the competition date

You have been poling for any length of time
You have previously taught or currently teach pole in a paid capacity or You have completed a pole instructor training course/certified as a pole instructor
You may or may not be currently teaching pole

You have NOT previously entered a Miss Pole Dance UK professional competition in a SINGLES category
This category has a pre-selection video round ONLY successful applicants will be invited to compete in the finals

MR POLE FITNESS UK CATEGORY Amateur / Semi pro

You must be 16 or over on the competition date

Poling for any length of time

You have NOT previously entered a Miss Pole Dance UK professional competition in a SINGLES category
This category has NO pre-selection video round - Applicants are awarded a place in the final on a first come first registered basis

DOUBLES CATEGORY Amateur / Semi-pro

Age 8 or over on the competition date

You may be an amateur and/or a semi-pro - 
You have NOT previously entered a Miss Pole Dance UK professional competition in the DOUBLES category

Males and females may enter this category
 

POLEBEAT™ Anybody can enter as long as they are aged 16 or over on the competition date - All contestants must be either a competitor in any category, chaperone, judge, staff member or ticket-holding spectator on the day.

GROUPS CATEGORY
You must ALL be aged 16 or over on the competition date
Minimum of 3 - Maximum of 10 participants per group. 
Groups can be made up of all abilities/pole or dance backgrounds.
All Males, all females, and mixed-sex groups may enter this category.

PROFESSIONAL CATEGORY
You must be 18 or over on the competition date

You may have been poling for any length of time
You may be a student or instructor

You can apply at any level although the standard expected is high 

This category has a pre-selection video round ONLY successful applicants will be invited to compete in the finals

Once you have entered the Miss Pole Dance Professional  category you may not go back to the semi-professional category unless you have not entered ANY pole competitions for a period of 5 YEARS

 

OPEN CATEGORY
Suitable for non-binary, transgender males and transgender females

Over 18's only
